Young Scholar Salutes Servicewomen Through Girl Scout Award

Young Scholar Sabrina Yvellez of Johns Creek, Georgia, was recently featured on WSB-TV Atlanta for her work towards the Girl Scout Silver Award.

To highlight the sacrifice of women who, according to Sabrina, exemplify the Girl Scout values of courage, confidence and character, she decided to help fund and create a monument for fallen U.S. servicewomen.

The Jack Kent Cooke Scholar, who turned just 14 years old this May, has raised $13,000 for the monument, which will be one part of the future four-acre Johns Creek Veterans Memorial Walk.
