Last weekend, the Cooke Foundation brought together all 70 of our new Cooke Young Scholars and their families to the Johns Hopkins University campus. These rising high school freshman enter the Young Scholars Program as our fifteenth cohort, and traveled from all over the nation to join us for Welcome Weekend.

Cooke Foundation Welcomes Young Scholars

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation enables high-ability middle and high school students with financial need to realize their full academic potential. Through its Young Scholars Program, the Cooke Foundation has to date supported 600 students from across the nation, providing them with individualized educational advising combined with comprehensive financial support from the 8th grade through high school.

Young Scholars Welcome Weekend 2013: Cohort 12

More than 100 Scholars and their parents/guardians came together at Welcome Weekend 2013 to jumpstart their journey in the Foundation’s Young Scholars Program.

Families and Scholars came from all over the country to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. The newest cohort of Young Scholars took trains, buses, taxis, cars, and planes—some Scholars even flew on a plane for the first time. They came from different hometowns with different dreams and interests, but their collective potential and ambition bonded them as a group of Scholars.
