The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation enables high-ability middle and high school students with financial need to realize their full academic potential. Through its Young Scholars Program, the Cooke Foundation has to date supported 600 students from across the nation, providing them with individualized educational advising combined with comprehensive financial support from the 8th grade through high school.

Q&A: College Advising Corps CEO Nicole Hurd

In December we announced that the CEO of Cooke Foundation grantee College Advising Corps (CAC), Dr. Nicole Hurd, was included on the 2014 Chronicle of Higher Education Influence List. This fantastic honor was awarded based on the CAC’s work in helping low-income, first-generation college and underrepresented students get to college.

JKCF Scholars and Staff Volunteer with Hands On DC

Nine Jack Kent Cooke Scholars and a handful of Jack Kent Cooke Foundation staff came together on Saturday, March 8, to volunteer with Hands On DC, a service organization dedicated to improving the physical conditions of DC’s public schools. The event kicked off at 9:00 a.m. at Walker Jones Education Campus, and for the better part of five hours, Scholars and staff teamed up to paint murals of famous children’s book covers onto hallway walls of the elementary school.
