Something That Matters: Cooke Scholar Qian Qian Tang

Qian Qian Tang was in the very first cohort of Cooke Young Scholars, and it transformed her life. The experiences she’s had and the people she’s met have inspired her to change the world.

After graduating from Phillips Exeter Academy, she attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Cooke College Scholar. It was there where she first became interested in the intersection of technology and healthcare. She put that interest to good use when she helped launch the healthtech company Kinsa with the idea of building the first real time map to track and stop the spread of disease. Learn more about her amazing work and journey in our new scholar spotlight video:

About being a Young Scholar, Qian Qian said, “If I hadn’t applied in 7th grade, my life would have been completely different. You don’t realize how big of an impact every single decision makes.” If you are (or know) a high-achieving 7th grader with financial need, there’s still time to apply for the Cooke Young Scholars Program.Cooke Scholar Qian Qian Tang-688262-edited.jpg
