Is Early Admission Fair to Low-Income Students?

In The Huffington Post, Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Executive Director Harold O. Levy describes how the early decision process is a challenge for students with financial need.

Unlike the similar application strategy known as early action, a student who is accepted for early decision is bound to that institution and its corresponding financial aid package. Being unable to evaluate and compare financial aid offers can pose a significant burden on a talented student with financial need.

For the vast majority of students applying to top schools, the odds of acceptance pivot based on how much money their parents make.
