Cooke Young Artist Wins Top Honors at International Piano Competition

Oscar Paz-Suaznabar, who received our Cooke Young Artist Award in 2015, competed in the prestigious VII Chopin International Piano Competition last week. We are excited to learn that he was awarded Grand Prix in the “Junior” category — congratulations, Oscar!

Each year From the Top’s Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award Program provides 20 outstanding young musicians who demonstrate financial need with a $10,000 scholarship to advance their artistic development and education. In addition, Cooke Young Artists perform on the hit NPR and PBS program, “From the Top,” and participate in arts leadership training to spread the power of classical music.

Since 2005, we have awarded over $2M in scholarships to more than 200 talented young people who have used their awards for new instruments, music lessons, summer music program tuition, competition fees, and more. Learn more about From the Top at their website or follow their updates on Facebook:
