College Greenlight: Virtual College and Scholarship Event, 10/12

If you want to get serious about your college journey, join College Greenlight for the Next Stop College Marathon on Saturday, October 12 from 9:00am-9:00pm CST. This day-long, virtual event, designed for first generation and underrepresented students, is an opportunity to apply for colleges and scholarships, enter raffles, and get help from admissions, scholarship, and essay writing experts.

To participate, students and counselors need to REGISTER ONLINE. On the day of the marathon, participants must have access to a computer with an internet connection. College Greenlight will have experts on hand all day, ready to answer students’ scholarship and college application questions, as well as free webinars from college admissions and scholarship experts like the Gates Millennium Foundation, Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, Story To College, New Futuro, and many other great organizations. College Greenlight will also hold hourly raffles for student participants, and one hard-working student will win a $1,000 College Greenlight scholarship.

To participate:

  1. Register: Enter your name, address, email, and create a username and password HERE.
  2. Prepare: Students should fill out a free profile on College Greenlight as completely and accurately as they can to ensure they are matched with as many great colleges and scholarships as possible. Identify which scholarships require essays so students can start early.
  3. Gather information: Collect any information that might be required for college and scholarship applications, including transcripts, test scores, names and contact information for references, and a list of club and/or after-school program affiliations.
  4. Follow: Follow College Greenlight on Twitter and Facebook to keep up on scholarship and college deadlines.
